Description
The Karl Kahrs Scholarship was established to assist students who are studying Political Science or Public Administration who will be studying abroad in an EU country.
Dr. Kahrs, Professor of Political Science Emeritus specializing in Germany and the EU, served in the Department of Political Science for over 30 years.

Eligibility
Open to students who meet the following criteria:
- Declared major or minor in Political Science, Public Administration, or related field within the Division of Politics, Administration, and Justice (PAJ), College of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) at CSUF.
- Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA.
- Demonstrated financial need by filing the 2025–26 FAFSA or the California Dream Act Application (CADAA).
- Will be studying abroad in a European Union country during the upcoming academic year or semester.
Criteria:Applicants will be evaluated based on:
- Academic standing and potential for success in their political science or public administration studies.
- Demonstrated financial need.
- Commitment to studying abroad in an EU country.
