Overview

Graduates of the JD/MBA program from New York University have pursued careers in law firms, corporate counsel offices, entrepreneurship, general business organizations, investment and accounting firms, nonprofit agencies and government institutions.

While the JD and MBA degrees typically require five years of study when pursued independently, the dual degree program takes only four years to complete. The first two years are spent at the School of Law, the third year is spent at NYU Stern, and the fourth year is divided between the two schools.

The JD/MBA dual degree comprises a total of 122 credits. Students must complete 51 credits at NYU Stern and 71 credits at the School of Law, making it possible to complete the degree requirements for both programs in four years of full-time study—as opposed to the five years typically required to complete both degrees independently.

Career Services

Students are encouraged to take advantage of all career counseling and placement services at both the School of Law and NYU Stern throughout the dual degree program. Career counselors are available to aid students in areas such as resume preparation, interviewing techniques, networking and career option assessment. JD/MBA students should become familiar early in the program with career services offered at each school.
