Key Features

Digital Sciences students at TH Köln (University of Applied Sciences) can opt for one of three different specializations and choose from more than 60 modules and thus focus on their individual interests and projects. The field of study "Data and Information Sciences" (in English) aims to generate and make available knowledge gained from data and information. Graduates work in companies that depend heavily on the generation of business-relevant knowledge, e.g. from web data, digital information platforms, online retailers, social networks, online media, etc. The field of study "Software Architecture" (English language) teaches software engineering oriented towards large and complex systems, which understands IT as a socio-technical system. This course pays particular attention to people and their ways of thinking and acting when creating software systems. The field of study "IT Management" (German and English language) is based on broad knowledge and skills in operational IT management and focuses on strategic IT management. From this perspective, the tasks of setting up, operating and further developing IT are considered.

An undergraduate degree (Diplom or Bachelor's degree) in a suitable field (engineering or computer science) with a final grade of 2.5/"good" (German grading system) or equivalent.

Proof of English language proficiency.

Applicants are required to detail their motivation for pursuing the Master's program in a 2-page cover letter, written in English.

This cover letter may be used to determine an applicant's aptitude for the program. Applications without cover letter will not be considered.
