University of Malaya's Master's degree in Engineering Science has the following learning outcomes:

Demonstrate a systematic understanding of knowledge by identifying research problems in the related engineering field.

Apply appropriate research methodology and design.

Publish knowledge in the conducted research field to the benefit of community, as well as be sensitive to the role and responsibility for the needs of the society.

Conduct research independently with minimum supervision and adhere to legislation, ethics and professional codes of practice.

Present research findings orally and scholarly publications in the field of engineering related research.

Evaluate research findings using scientific methods and critical thinking skills.

Engage in information management and continuous learning activities.

For applicants with a CGPA of not less than 3.00:

Possess a Bachelor’s Degree with a CGPA of not less than 3.00; or

For applicants with a CGPA of 2.50 – 2.99 (must fulfill at least one of the following):

Graduate from University Malaya; or
Accumulate at least one (1) year of work experience in related fields; or
Produce publications in related field; or
Receive a scholarship; or
Serve as a staff member of a government agency; or
Pass an interview conducted by Faculty; or
Pass a Special evaluation by Faculty.
