Key facts
During the intensive 12-month MA in Visual Communication - Graphic Design at Cambridge School of Visual & Performing Arts based in our central Cambridge studios, you will advance a specialist knowledge of your chosen area of communication design, and be encouraged to explore new methods, digital platforms and technologies that help develop an original approach and take your work in exciting new directions.
As well as refining your knowledge of fundamental principles and the traditional print and screen-based skills necessary for future careers in commercial work, you will be supported to explore the expanded field of contemporary graphic design, including motion graphics, digital and interactive design, UX/UI, information design, and user-centred approaches.
Careers
The course provides students with the experience and expert skills for careers in the expanding creative industries in the UK and worldwide across the field of graphic and communication design, including editorial and publishing, UX/UI design, advertising and art direction, digital media and interactive design, branding, motion graphics and animation, experience design, visual marketing and digital content production.
Previous graduates have gone on to careers in freelance graphic design; branding and marketing; graphic designer at Esquire.

- Successfully completed an Undergraduate Degree in graphic design, graphics and illustration, communication design or closely related subject.
- CSVPA recognises a wide variety of qualifications and/or relevant experience and encourages applications from all people, with a demonstrable interest and experience in their subject.
- In some cases students may be required to complete a Graduate Diploma.
