Overview
The Peace and Security Studies MPS course from University of Hamburg pursues both transdisciplinary and interdisciplinary approaches involving the natural sciences, the social sciences, and law.
The aim of the program is to introduce highly-qualified graduates from German and foreign universities as well as academically trained professionals to debates and approaches in peace research and security policy. Universität Hamburg offers the program jointly with the Institute for Peace Research and Security Policy at Universität Hamburg (IFSH) in conjunction with leading academic and security policy institutions as part of the Cooperation Network for peace research and security policy (Kooperationsverbund Friedensforschung und Sicherheitspolitik—KoFrieS).

Graduates of the MA in Peace and Security Studies from Germany and abroad are equipped for careers in peace research and teaching, national and international organizations, public administrations, professional associations, private-sector companies, the media, etc.

- An above-average grade in a degree completed at a German or foreign university, or a successfully completed degree from a German or foreign university together with proof of above-average professional experience in the field of peace studies or security policy
