Overview
The Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy (MA-LMFT) program at Houston Christian University emphasizes the development of research-supported clinical counseling skills, while encouraging students to reflect on their personal values, and to grow in maturity. This program is available both residentially and online. However, the online format also requires on campus residential components.
Key fact
The coursework provided meets the academic requirements for licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) in the state of Texas. Students complete a three semester, 700 hours, practicum and internships I & II in a University-approved counseling setting under the supervision of a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) as part of the degree plan.
