Key Facts of the Sociology and Social Anthropology at Central European University (CEU)
In a wide range of courses on social theory, migration, religion, ethnicity, cultural policies, economic sociology, globalization, dynamics of modernity, institutional change, urban processes and gender relations, students are encouraged to articulate individual positions with regard to bridging the two disciplines in the topics they study. One of the main endeavors of the programme is to develop the research skills of students by offering solid training in methodology.

General requirements
- Applicants must have a first degree from a recognized university or institution of higher education. Admission to the one-year MA programme requires at least 4 years of prior university studies.
- Students enrolled in a master's programme at CEU PU must not be simultaneously enrolled in another higher education institution
- English proficiency
Departmental entry requirements are:
- A 500-word research proposal. The topic should fall within the broad thematic focus of the department and the areas of interest of its faculty.
- 2 recommendation letters
