Description
Jane Matthews (not her real name) is a retired teacher who came to Stoke-on-Trent in 1960 and never left. Since 2014 she has generously donated annually to support Staffordshire University students studying the PGCE course from lower income households.
Benefits
The PGCE Bursary comprises six awards of £500 each. The bursary aims to assist PGCE students with the growing costs of resources whilst training to become a teacher.
Eligibility
Funding is available to students who meet the following criteria:
- Be studying a non-funded PGCE
- Have household income of under £30,000

To apply students must complete the online application form, and within the personal statement section outline how the £500 will support you throughout your PGCE year and share your ambitions and achievement goals.
Applications close on 23 January.
