Description

The MPP Scholarship is intended for students from non-EU countries who want to study the double-degree Masters of Science in Public Policy and Human Development, a double degree programme offered by United Nations University and Maastricht University. This scholarship is a full scholarship awarded to one MPP student per year, and covers tuition, visa costs, and living costs in Maastricht. There is no age restriction to students applying for this scholarship.

Benefits

The MPP Scholarship for the academic year 2026/27 covers the tuition fee of €21,500 and the Aon student insurance of € 680 (paid to the recipients by the UM Scholarship Office).

Eligibility

All candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Hold nationality in a country outside the EU/EEA and outside Switzerland and meet the requirements for obtaining an entry visa and residence permit for the Netherlands
  • Have never participated in a degree-seeking higher education programme abroad. Students who have completed exchange programmes are welcome to apply
  • Have been admitted to the Masters in Public Policy and Human Development at UNU-MERIT/Maastricht University (which requires the payment of a handling fee of €100 [excluding bank costs] - refunded to you once you have started your studies)
  • Have a Bachelor or pre-Master degree
