General Linguistics
The one-year General Linguistics programme of the University of Amsterdam has a typological focus: you will explore how the systems of the languages of the world can vary and to what extent this variation is constrained.
Linguistics (specialisation)
In the course of the Linguistics (specialisation) MA programme at Leiden University you will be able to focus on a specific thematic or disciplinary route, reflecting the linguistics expertise present at Leiden University. In addition, you may be given the possibility to design a thematic or disciplinary route according to your own specific interest.
Modern Languages
The Modern Languages is a one-year MA programme within the masters's degree in Linguistics at Leiden University. In the course of the programme you will be able to focus on one of five language themes, or a combination thereof: Chinese Linguistics, English Linguistics, French Linguistics, German Linguistics or Italian Linguistics.
German Literature and Culture
The German Literature and Culture MA programme at Leiden University offers the largest number of German-language master’s courses in the Netherlands and covers the fields of literary and cultural studies from the Middle Ages to the present.
