The History program of Virginia Tech offers three master’s program options: a master’s in history, a master’s in history with a graduate certificate in public history, and a dual degree history–social studies education program with Virginia teaching licensure.

Creative Writing
The Creative Writing program of Virginia Tech offers tracks in Poetry and Fiction, and all students are fully and equally funded via GTA-ships of more than $20,000 per year. We encourage cross-genre experimentation, offer additional courses in creative nonfiction, playwriting, new media creative writing, and literary editing.
Geosciences
The Geosciences program of Virginia Tech focuses on research, education and outreach dealing with the nature of the earth. We offer the MS and PhD degree programs at the Blacksburg campus.
Plant Pathology, Physiology, and Weed Science
As a program within the School of Plant and Environmental Sciences, the mission of the Plant Pathology, Physiology, and Weed Science program of Virginia Tech is to optimize plant productivity and quality by limiting the impact of biotic and abiotic stresses on the profitability of crops and other plant enterprises, as well as the impact of these stresses on natural and agricultural ecosystems.

Geography
The Geography program of Virginia Tech develops specialists for academic, agency, and industry positions through emphasis on geographic analysis, identifying debates and gaps in the current literature to define an original research question, and conducting research, collecting primary or secondary data, defending and presenting findings in publishable form.
Public Health (MPH)
Graduates trained in public health practice, such as health education and health care administration, find employment opportunities in health care settings, non-profit organizations, public health departments and other government agencies. The Public Health (MPH) program is offered by Virginia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine.
Mathematics
The Mathematics program of Virginia Tech is offered by the Department of Mathematics. There are roughly 70 graduate students actively engaged in the mathematics graduate program. All graduate students have an office/study space for their own use, and are welcome in the Department's Common Room for informal discussion and conversation.
