The Department offers graduate programs leading to a M.S. degree in Food Science. Students apply a fundamental understanding of biological, chemical, physical, and behavioral sciences to the processing, preservation, quality evaluation, nutrition and health aspects, and utilization of foods. The Food Science program is offered by Alabama A&M University.
The M.S. degree in Nutrition and Food Sciences at Louisiana State University requires a minimum of 30 hours of graduate credit (includes a minimum of 24 coursework hours and 6 hours of thesis research). At least 15 of the 30 hours must be in courses numbered at or above the 7000 level.
