Description
Grants of a duration of at least 1 year at doctorate or post-doctorate level. Priority will be given to the following fields :
- transport and logistics
- mechanical engineering
- life sciences
- agri-food industry
- aeronautics - aerospace
- environmental technologies
Consideration may also be given to all other fields of study, human, fundamental or applied sciences.
Period of the programme: September to August of the concerned academic year
Eligibility
Applicants should hold a higher education diploma of Master´s level delivered by a recognised foreign institution that is deemed to be equivalent to the Master´s II level by the Competent Authorities of Wallonia-Brussels.
Duration
1 year minimum, renewable two times
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test if you come from a non-English speaking country.

Benefits
- Monthly amount : 1,200 EUR covering subsistence and accommodation costs, course books, travelling expenses inside the country and the thesis costs;
- WBI will pay for one single return airline ticket ;
- WBI will cover the cost of taking out a « healthcare » policy for countries outside the European Union ;
- The WBI will cover the registration fees up to a maximum amount of 837 EUR or administrative costs of 500 EUR

- VisaThe visa application must be carried out by the recipient. For this purpose, WBI will provide the recipient with a document attesting to the awarding of the grant to facilitate the procedure.
- Study visit reportTwo months at the latest after the end of the programme, the recipient must write a report on the conditions of stay in the French-speaking Community of Belgium (programme followed, conditions of stay, suggestions etc.) This document will make it possible to pinpoint the strengths of the programme followed as well as any weaknesses. It will serve as a documentary reference for future recipients. The reports must be stamped by the academic head(s) of the host university. This will be sent by WBI to all the scientific, academic and institutional partners concerned by the programme.
- Compendium of former recipients of excellence grantsThe recipient agrees to be entered into the compendium drawn up by WBI and to keep it informed of their future career.
