All programmes are specifically designed for people in positions of responsibility in civil society (e.g. universities, schools, NGOs, local communities, governments).
The target group for master´s programmes comprises students from developing countries, although those from other countries are also welcome. Training programmes are tailored to people from developing countries with a certain degree of professional experience.
Although these programmes are primarily oriented towards students and professionals from developing countries, they are also open to other people. This website includes all the information you need to apply for a place on a given programme as a self-supporting student or a scholar. It also includes information on course content and application requirements.

Master of Human Settlements
This intensive advanced programme addresses rapid urbanisation in the developing world and contemporary urban transformations within the scope of sustainable development.

Master of Development Evaluation and Management
This programme focuses on the problems of economic, social and political development as pursued through the multiple interventions of a wide range of public and non-governmental actors, especially in the field of development cooperation.

Master of Globalisation and Development
This programme focuses on the process of globalisation and its consequences for developing countries.

Master of Governance and Development
During this programme students are given theoretical and practical multidisciplinary tools that improve their capacity for analysing governance issues at different levels and understanding how they are connected to conflict, conflict management and development processes.

Master of Biostatistics
This programme provides sound training in modern statistical methodology, with a focus on the design and analysis of biomedical and epidemiological studies.

Master of Physical Land Resources
This programme trains students in the inventory and detailed characterisation of land capacity, and soils in particular (major in Soil Science). The major in Land Resources Engineering provides training in non-agricultural use and application of soil.

Master of Aquaculture
This programme deals with diverse aspects of both marine and fresh-water aquaculture. The goal is to train academic master graduates for the aquaculture industry that are able to conduct and design research, form and implement strategies for future development, and perform the duties of key persons in their local environment by sharing and teaching acquired knowledge.

This programme brings together expertise at the scientific and technological level for taking an integrated look at human-environment interactions. Master of Water Resources Engineering
The main goal of this interuniversity programme is to offer comprehensive training in water resources engineering to engineers and scientists from developing and industrialised countries.
