The CIMO India Fellowships Programme focuses on enhancing the mobility of post-Master's level students and young researchers from India to Finland. It is a follow-up of the Sitra Fellowships Programme which Sitra, the Finnish Innovation Fund, and the Centre for International Mobility CIMO launched in January 2007. CIMO India Fellowships Programme is funded and administered by CIMO.
The aim of the programme is to encourage academic mobility between Finland and India, and to support the internationalisation of research and education by strengthening the cooperation between Finnish and Indian universities and university research institutes.
The CIMO India Fellowships are offered for post-Master's level studies, research and teaching at universities and university research institutes in Finland. The scholarships are intended for Indian applicants who have completed a Master's degree. Neither studies at Master's level nor postdoctoral studies are supported in the programme.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test if you come from a non-English speaking country.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test. More information
The amount of the scholarship varies from 800 to 1 200 euros per month. Also an additional travel grant for 500 euros is awarded.
The CIMO India Fellowships are applied for by the Finnish university departments wishing to host the visiting student or researcher. The applying department is expected to commit to common objectives with the prospective scholarship holder. The scholarship is personal. The applications by the Finnish institutions should be submitted at least 4 months before the intended scholarship period.
The prerequisite for applying is that the visiting student or researcher has established contacts with the Finnish host university or research institute in advance.
