Description

Scholarships for post-Master's studies and research at Finnish universities are available for international postgraduate students and researchers of Finnish language and culture.

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test if you come from a non-English speaking country.

Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test. More information

Benefits

The monthly allowance is 1200 euros. No additional allowance for housing is paid. Expenses due to international travel to and from Finland are not covered by CIMO.

Application information

The prerequisite for applying is that the visiting student or researcher must have established contacts with the Finnish host university. The Finnish university department wishing to host him or her applies to CIMO for the grant.

Applications should be submitted 3-4 months before the intended scholarship period.

The following documents should be attached:
  • the host's explanation and rationale for the project
  • research plan
  • the scholarship holder's CV (including a list of completed degrees, publications and previous stays in Finland)
  • a copy of the applicant's degree certificate
