The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) offers scholarships for graduates and younger lecturers from humanities, sociology and social sciences from Belarus, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. The study scholarships and research grants are awarded for Master's studies, doctoral studies and research stays at German universities.
This special programme aims to improve teaching and research in the humanities, sociology and social sciences in Belarus, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan and to create networks between academics from these regions as a basis for the independent development of further international contacts. This special programme is financed from the budget of the Federal Foreign Office and from external (third party) funds.
This special scholarship programme preferentially supports humanities, sociology and social sciences disciplines which are underrepresented in the participating countries. These include political science, sociology, international relations, law, economics, public administration, education management, public health and philosophy. In individual cases, funding may be available for applicants from other disciplines as long as these count as humanities and social sciences subjects.

Research Grants (two three-month stays within two successive years)
The maximum scholarship term for a Master's or Magister programme is two years, three years for a doctoral programme, and a maximum of two three-month periods for research stays.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test if you come from a non-English speaking country.
