Description

Twice a year the ÖIF allots the Liese Prokop Scholarship to recognized refugees and beneficiaries of subsidiary protection studying at an Austrian university or a university of applied science (Fachhochschule). The ÖIF is responsible for counseling, filing the application, and support.

Eligibility

  • Granted asylum in non-degree study programs.
  • Granted asylum who have their foreign degree nostrified or officially recognized by an Austrian university.
  • Beneficiaries of subsidiary protection.
  • Financial and provable need of support for studies.
  • Admittance to degree program at an Austrian university
  • Studies begin before the 31st birthday (there is no age limit with nostrification)

Duration

For a maximum period of 4 semesters (in exceptional cases an extension is possible).

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test if you come from a non-English speaking country.

Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test. More information
