Description

This scholarship programme aims to encourage young university lecturers to remain in the higher education sector in Russia, Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine by means of various measures, including the intensification of contacts with German partner universities and colleges, joint research projects, etc.

The scholarship supports the holder's work at his/her home institution ("sur place") and additionally involves a stay at the German partner institution for the purpose of completing a final dissertation or thesis (Diplom or Master dissertation or doctoral - PhD - thesis).

Eligibility

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Scholarships are intended for students, young academics, and scientists preferably from the fields of engineering and science who are writing a final dissertation or thesis at an institution in the Russian Federation, in Belarus, in Moldova or in Ukraine.
  • Applications can only be submitted within the context of an existing partnership with a German higher education institution. Students and graduates interested in applying should inquire at their home institution whether the institution has any formal partnerships with a German higher education institution under which a scholarship could be awarded. The German higher education institution is responsible for submitting the application. The DAAD is unable to consider applications by foreign universities.

Duration

9 months at the Russian, Belarusian, Moldovanian or Ukrainian university or college, 1 month at the German partner institution. Scholarships cannot be extended.

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test if you come from a non-English speaking country.

Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test. More information
