Description
Grant for Japaneese students and researchers to study or preform research in Austria, and vice versa.
Eligibility
For Japaneese students:
- Knowledge of the German language.
For Austrian students:
- Age limit: 39
- Excellent knowledge of English and German
Duration
An extension is possible once for 12 months
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test if you come from a non-English speaking country.

Benefits
For Japaneese students:
- Monthly grant rate:
- for students and graduates: EUR 940.-
- for graduates over 30 years with a PhD degree: EUR 1040.--
- If necessary, the OeAD-GmbH will take out an accident and health insurance on behalf of the grant recipient.
- Austria additionally pays the travel costs up to max. EUR 1460.
For Austrian students:
- Yearly income: 3.600.000 Yen (35 weeks)
- Tickets (from Austria to Japan and from Japan to Austria)

Additional information
- Any personal data included in the application and the enclosures thereof may be passed on to other persons in order to properly process the application and to provide statistical data.Additional scholarships by other institutions will be notified.
- The costs for insurance and accommodation have to be paid out of the grant by the recipient of the grant.
- Accommodation in Austria (student hall of residence or flat) will be provided by the OeAD-GmbH for recipients of grants. Monthly costs: EUR 200.-- to EUR 380.-- (depending on how much comfort the recipients of grants want). An administration fee of EUR 15.-- per month is payable to the OeAD-GmbH for arranging accommodation.
