Description

The programme aims to provide support for a research and study visit. Lecture tours and conference attendance cannot be supported.

Eligibility

  • Applications are open to foreign holders of doctorates who are working in countries abroad with which such an exchange of academics is envisaged within the framework of cultural exchange programmes and other bilateral agreements.
  • Depending on programme responsibility and the support-policy priorities of the foreign partner, the academic exchange within individual programmes may be restricted to specific institutions and/or disciplines.

Duration

The stay generally should last at least a fortnight and at most three months. The date and purpose of the stay should be agreed in advance with the German host institution.

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test if you come from a non-English speaking country.

Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test. More information

Benefits

The DAAD will pay for the costs incurred by the academic as a result of the stay; travel expenses must be paid by the partner institution in the respective home country.
