Starting in the winter term 2012/13 the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) provides a scholarship programme for students who attend the study programme M.A. Financial and Managerial Accounting (FAMA) offered by the Berlin School of Economics and Law. The scholarship programme amounts to around 130,000 Euros. It is the scholarship's purpose to strengthen the integrative character of the master programme and to significantly intensify the cooperation between the participating universities and institutions in Vietnam and Germany. Four of the sixteen scholarships referred as Scholarships "Third-Country". These scholarships address to applicants from countries all over the world except Vietnam. The scholarship provides students with the grants they need to cover the tuition fee, living expenses and travel costs. In addition, there are four Scholarships "Tuition Fees" and eight Scholarships "Studying in Germany" available. They address to Vietnamese FAMA students residing in Vietnam. The English-language Master programme offered by the Berlin School of Economics and Law (BSEL) at two universities in Vietnam since January 2012 is the first programme of the BSEL "going abroad". The classes at the Banking Academy of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh Open University in Ho Chi Minh City are unlike popular franchise models at Vietnamese universities, are solely conducted by German professors. The academic programme of the BSEL has met such great interest that a new class will be set up in December 2012 following the current 52 students who are studying for the master's degree. Prof. Dr. Rainer Stachuletz, Academic Director of the Master programme, describes the scholarship programme as a win-win situation: "On the one hand, students reveive an additional incentive to acquire a German master degree without having to go and live in Germany. On the other hand, the BSEL gets in touch with youn and ambitious people from Vietnam. Hence the BSEL receives the opportunity to expand its regional reserach and practice-related expertise in business and economics science in Southeast Asia. The export of the study programme supported by German Academic Exchange Service and funded by the Foreign Ministry of the Federal Republic of Germany indicates a development of pioneering foreign economic activities of Germany."
The basic admission requirements for each of the scholarship programmes are: Bachelor's degree, preferably in Economics, Political Science or related subjects, relevant work experience, good knowledge of English.
The scholarship programme covers twelve months of study.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test if you come from a non-English speaking country.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test. More information
