Description

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) supports study programms with focus on sustainable management of natural resources in developing countries. The organization provides scholarships for students from developing countries of the MSc programme Tropical and International Forestry at the University of Göttingen annually.

Eligibility

Applicants must have:

  • Will come either from a public authority or a state or private company in a developing country and, as such, be engaged in the planning and execution of directives and projects with emphasis on development policies having a bearing on technological, economic or social areas.
  • Holds a Bachelor’s degree (4 years) in a related subject ((Agriculture, Ecology, Geography)
  • Will have completed an academic degree far above average and at least two years of related professional experience.
  • Is not older than 36 (for some courses the age limit is 32); his/her respective academic degrees should normally not be more than 6 years old
  • IELTS (band 6.0) certificate or TOEFL (minimum score: 550 paper based, 213 computer based, 80 internet based)

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test if you come from a non-English speaking country.

Benefits

The scholarship covers living costs, study fees, health insurance, travel costs and German language courses for the whole course (24 months). The monthly allowance is about € 750 + additional costs.

Beside financial support students benefit from individual tuition, excursions, events, alumni network and summer schools..

Application information

Please use the DAAD application form and provide all necessary documents according to the DAAD guidelines (described on the last page of the form). You can submit your scholarship application to the German embassy in your country or to any DAAD regional office. Applications should be submitted at the end of August for the scholarship period starting in summer of the following year.
